Hip! Hip! ….Replacement?

The words “hip” and “old lady” usually go together all too well in a medical situation but Maggie Smith is named TuftsDaily‘s 7th Hippest Old Lady! Perhaps not the most prestigious listing but she proves 72 is the new 20. Here’s what they had to say:

7) Maggie Smith – England is pretty small and there are only a few renowned British actresses, and even fewer old ones. Smith has starred in both “Sister Act” (1992) and “Sister Act 2” (1993), as well as the typical Shakespearian role. Best known recently for her work with the “Harry Potter” series, she has proven once and for all that she is in demand for just about any kind of role. She’s also pretty old (72), making her hipness stand out that much more.

Yup, so hip she has to walk through doors sideways. Read the rest here.

  1. She should be number one, followed closely by Angela Lansbury and Julie Andrews. JK. I know, I know, that is only my opinion. LOL! And no one asked me.

  2. I loved her in A Secret Garden xd

  3. noooooooooooooo not ange lansbury, she has fishy eyes.

  4. Love her acting in HP :) She’s fierce, stern and caring at the same time. A good grandmother..

  5. I would love to have a teacher like her.

  6. Well deserved!!!! Congrats, Maggie!

  7. I can’t believe everyone doesn’t consider her hip. She so good! Maybe not “hip” but good.

  8. Few renowned Britishes actresses? What difference does that make? It’s quality not quantity! We Brits have that by the bucket load! Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Julie Andrews and Angela Lansbury just to name a few! They are all very hip…not to mention my Nan! – Though that is another story.

  9. I am offended that they listed the Sister Act movies among her achievements but not Clash of the Titans, one of the most awesome movies ever.

  10. She is the greatest of all time! I love her! Good going!

  11. i love her
